Employee benefits package among new Chamber member services

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce has refreshed its membership offering to better support businesses through the ever-changing business landscape.

With a range of new services and benefits coming into effect from April, Chamber membership will be even more beneficial to businesses of all types and sizes.

The new services are aimed at helping members elevate their employee offering at a time when businesses are facing significant recruitment and retention challenges and staff continue to juggle the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.

As of 1st April 2023, the following new services and benefits will be added to the Chamber membership package:

  • Chamber Healthy Extras including a premium employee rewards package with savings from hundreds of high street retailers as well as a 24 hour advice and information helpline.
  • Chamber IT solutions provides members with a free cyber security review and free IT systems review with member David Allen IT.
  • Our new online portal, as part of our new, more sophisticated CRM, hosts a number of new features members have been asking for, including the members’ directory (with the ability to decide what, or even if, you list).
  • Employee Wellbeing Plan – a wellbeing resource centre available to all with factsheets, videos, podcasts and training plans to support a journey to a healthier life.

Chamber Healthy Extras is included with membership for businesses with up to 99 employees. Businesses with 100+ employees will receive platinum membership to the Directors Club free-of-charge included in their membership in place of Chamber Healthy Extras. However, these businesses can choose to add Healthy Extras to their membership for a bolt on fee of 23p per employee per month.

Head of Commercial and Business Growth Eve Halliday said:

“We’ve been working hard in the background for months to revitalise our membership offering. As a Chamber, we are owned by our members so it is vital that we are serving and supporting them effectively.

The introduction of employee benefits is something many have requested, so I’m delighted that from April, it will be available as standard to member businesses with up to 99 employees, that includes sole traders too.

With Chamber Healthy Extras those smaller businesses, who perhaps can’t afford to offer an employee benefit or a pay rise, now have something in place. Those who are trying to attract staff now have something extra to offer. And those who perhaps have something similar in place but are struggling with overheads may be able to make savings without impacting employees.

We also expect the introduction of these new services to improve the employment offering of the county as a whole. How exciting that hundreds of businesses in Cumbria now have an employee benefit scheme in place as standard!

Crucially, thousands of employees will be able to access savings and support when times are tough and make their money go that little bit further, in particular with summer holidays just around the corner.

We’re also excited about the launch of our online members’ portal, a digital platform allowing members to contribute to our online community by posting news stories, events, offers and business information to other members.

A members’ directory is something that often gets asked for. With our new platform, members have total control of how visible they want to be. If you don’t want your business or details listed in the directory for other members to see, that’s fine.

However, if you would like to be listed, share news stories, invite other members to your events and give other members a special offer or service that’s fine too. We’re letting you have total control of the degree of visibility you want to have.

Further new services include, 121 business review meetings, merchant services reviews and IT services. For a full list of member services visit www.cumbriachamber.co.uk
