Looking to recruit high quality apprentices? Join the Lakes College Apprenticeship Academy

Employers encouraged to take advantage of Apprenticeship Academy talent pool

The academy has received more than 200 applications from budding apprentices and is now in the process of linking those applicants with employers to deliver the skilled workers companies across Cumbria need.

More than 20 employers have already signed up to recruit apprentices through the academy, including Morgan Sindall, KEYFORT, National Nuclear Laboratory, Nuclear Waste Services, Tweddle Engineering, Parkfield Nursery, TSP Engineering, West House, Lake District Hotels and Story Contracting.

Victoria Morgan, bids and projects manager at Lakes College, said: “We have been blown away by the response to our Apprenticeship Academy so far, with a huge number of fantastic applicants looking to secure an apprenticeship.

“The way this initiative has been embraced by employers shows the demand for high-quality apprentices in Cumbria and we are determined to deliver the skilled workforce that the county needs.

“I would encourage any employers keen to recruit an apprentice in 2023 to get in touch and tap into the rich talent pool we have available in the county.”

The college is still welcoming interest from employers keen to fill apprenticeship vacancies through the academy.

The academy will arrange any required aptitude testing, screen applications before sharing them with employers, and provide interview and CV skills training to ensure applicants are in the best position to present themselves.
