What are the new Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards?

The Department for International Trade’s (DIT) inaugural Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards are now open to submissions!

With these new awards, DIT aim to celebrate the success of UK businesses trading internationally and uncover stories of businesses making an impact in a global level.

Winners will receive a 2023 winner’s certificate and digital badge as well as a high-profile visit from a DIT representative to your offices to celebrate your exporting success.

Deadline for submissions: 23:59 on Thursday 23 February 2023 and the winners will be announced: Mid-April 2023 

The seven categories are:

  • Agriculture, Food and Drink
  • Consumer Goods
  • Creative Industries
  • Digital
  • Education
  • Financial and Professional Services
  • Manufacturing

*If your business covers more than one industry, please select the industry that best represents your international sales.

Key information

  • Each category will be judged by a panel comprised of a DIT sector lead, a DIT communications lead, and independent panellist Institute of Export Director General Marco Forgione
  • You cannot apply on behalf of another business, but we encourage you to share with any relevant businesses in your network.
  • The awards are free to enter
  • Businesses entering should be an SME, defined as 250 employees or less
  • Businesses should only submit one entry for the most relevant category
  • Export stories submitted should relate to the calendar year January 2022
