Spring Your Business Forward – a message from the MD

Whether it’s Easter, Eostre, another festival, or just springtime, this time of year has always been about renewal, rebirth and the future. And for those of us above a certain age at least, perhaps more specifically new summer clothes, spring cleaning and decorating!

This Easter it’s even more appropriate than usual to be looking to the future as it appears we’re finally emerging into the new normal and out of the most serious grip of the pandemic. We’re certainly ready for it. Whether your business has been able to operate or not this has been an immensely challenging and draining year, with varying degrees of stress, both professionally and personally.

Those of us lucky enough to have a garden are enjoying seeing the emergence of flowers and shoots, with what now seems like daily growth and change. We’re getting out there tidying, pruning and planting – as well as perhaps thinking about some bigger development projects.

So it makes sense to turn the same approach to ourselves and our businesses, beyond a sudden diet and exercise binge to get out of the trackie bottoms and into proper work clothes!

Whether that means some personal learning and development or some activities directly aimed at rejuvenating your business we’ve got plenty coming up in the Chamber that can help you with that. This includes, for example:

  • A range of commercial training courses, which we’ll be adding more to over the coming weeks and months, covering employment law, prospecting and sales, marketing, import and export and more, and well as opportunities to bring in specialist consultancy support.
  • Cumbria Business Growth Hub, drawing together a range of business support initiatives offering you free help to review you options and opportunities, advice, mentoring, workshops and more, as well as the opportunity of a subsidy for consultancy support or to help you gain accreditations such as ISO or SALSA.
  • The Directors Club, offering a range of personal and professional development and networking opportunities to you as a director or senior decisionmaker.
  • Women in Business, with the return of our popular Women in Business network, sponsored by Baines Wilson, bringing you though provoking panellists and great networking opportunities.
  • Kickstart placements, bringing some fresh thinking and an extra pair of hands.

And that’s not all. There really is something for everyone.

So keep an eye out for what’s on offer, or give us a call on 0845 22 600 40 and find out more!
