Platinum Jubilee congratulations to Chamber Patron Her Majesty the Queen…

As Her Majesty the Queen is Patron of British Chambers of Commerce, it’s particularly appropriate that we include within this month’s Insight congratulations and best wishes on her Platinum Jubilee.

Although unless she’s using a pseudonym she’s not on our mailing list!

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce Managing Director, Suzanne Caldwell, says
“Landmarks like these prompt you to reflect on the past, and think to the future. As I’m sure the Queen is doing too.
I was delighted to be invited to participate in the service at Carlisle Cathedral to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and proud to be part of that celebration. It was a stirring service, concluding with us all singing the national anthem, followed by an really enjoyable reception.
With such a range of participants, and not least the young people and their leaders representing a range of organisations, the service was also an opportunity to reflect on the strength and vibrancy of Cumbria’s community. And the strength of our prospects for the future – despite the challenging times we’re facing currently.
This was reinforced the previous evening, by a very enjoyable time spent at the Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster Awards – huge congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted nominees! Not only did the awards highlight some great businesses, it was also a real pleasure to meet Chair of their Shadow Board, Jason Savage, and to hear about his work supporting young people into apprenticeships. With people like Jason coming through, Cumbria will clearly be in great hands in the future!
We can all help support young people as they move towards that, through supporting the great work of organisations such as Cumbria Careers Hub, www.careershubcumbria.co.uk, Centre for Leadership Performance, cforlp.org.uk, and Inspira, www.inspira.org.uk, as well as the various Shadow Boards around the county. So over the coming year let’s all look at what we can do to support them best.”
