LSIP findings discussed in two-part episode of the Cumbria Chamber podcast
by Joe Sanders
We were joined last week on the Cumbria Chamber podcast by Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) Engagement Manager, Kevin Warman, and Chamber member and Certified Career & Leadership Executive Coach Alec Pearson, to discuss the findings of this year’s LSIP report for Cumbria.
Our conversation is spilt into two parts and covers some of the key priorities outlined in the report. Part 1 looks at employability skills, emotional intelligence, recruitment and retainment. Then in Part 2 we discuss challenges surrounding leadership and management, skills of the future and AI, and what’s next for the LSIP.
During the episodes, Kevin draws on his experience talking to businesses during the research phase of the LSIP to offer interesting first-hand accounts of some of the challenges businesses are facing. Together, Kevin and Alec go into depth on some of the reasons behind the issues and discuss potential solutions.
