Request for proposals for marketing plan from Chamber Member Cumbria Cricket

Background

Cumbria Cricket has identified a need for a marketing & communications plan, and potentially further support, which will enable us to deliver on our vision and objectives and position Cumbria Cricket Ltd and the game of cricket in Cumbria as truly accessible to all.

Our mission statement is Cumbria Cricket Family are United & Inspired to ensure everyone in Cumbria can say cricket is a game for me

Our 4 strategic objectives are:

  • To transform Women & Girls Cricket
  • To inspire people to play
    • In schools
    • In clubs & the community
  • To create a coherent player pathway
  • To attract new audiences

Specific requirements

Specific requirements are:

  • Production, in consultation with us, of a marketing and communications plan, which is consistent with our values as an organisation, and which will assist us in:
    • Taking forward our mission and objectives
    • Bringing in finance and resources, including through corporate sponsorship, grants and schools & community programmes and other sources
    • Communicating effectively with and promoting the support of sponsors and other funders
    • Raising awareness and engaging participants, both among those who have been active in cricket previously and those who have not
    • Encouraging volunteers across the range of opportunities
    • Communicate effectively and engage with those already active in cricket in Cumbria as well as those who are not, including those who are harder to reach
    • Specifically support growth of women’s and girls’ cricket and inclusivity
    • Provide activity opportunities for people living in areas of deprivation, to support health & wellbeing.
  • The plan should also inform future activity, setting out a clear action plan for the way forward which can be implemented through a mix of:
    • Contracted activity, delivered by your or other supplier(s)
    • Activities which can be undertaken effectively by our team of staff or volunteers

Content of submission

Your submission should cover as a minimum:

  • Description of your delivery methodology/planned approach
  • Timescales with draft project plan
  • Track record and relevant experience, including examples of similar work and at least two relevant referees
  • Price for production of the marketing & communications plan, plus indicative price for further support

You should ensure that your responses also cover the following points:

  • Demonstration of sufficient staff resources
  • An outline of any other contracts you may have which will impact on your ability to deliver this activity, and how this will be managed
  • Identification of any potential risks in delivery of service, contained in a risk register, along with mitigation strategies for each

Criteria

Where we believe there is a conflict of interest we reserve the right not to consider your quote and not to award the contract to you.

Submissions will be reviewed on the basis of:

  • Relevant track record, experience and expertise
  • Staffing levels
  • Management processes
  • Pricing
  • Proposed approach

Instructions for submission

Submissions should be sent by email to bob.simpson@cumbriacricket.co.uk marked ‘Confidential – Proposal Enclosed’ to reach us by no later than 9am on Friday 23rd June 2023 with the intention for successful/unsuccessful responses being sent week commencing 3rd July 2023.

Cumbria Cricket’s rights

Cumbria Cricket reserves the right to:

  • Waive or change the requirements of this opportunity from time to time without prior, or any notice, being given
  • Seek clarification or documentation in respect of a submission
  • Disqualify any proposal that does not comply with the instructions in this brief
  • Disqualify any proposal that is guilty of serious misrepresentation in relation to its proposal or the bid process
  • Withdraw this opportunity at any time or re-invite submissions on the same or any alternative basis
  • Choose not to award any contract or accept the lowest or any tender as a result of the current procurement process
  • Choose not to award a contract to any organisation it views as a competitor or to have another conflict of interest
  • Make whatever changes we see fit to the timetable, structure of content of the procurement process

 

Bid cost

Cumbria Cricket will not be liable for any bid costs, expenditure, work or effort incurred by a tenderer in proceeding with or participating in this procurement, including if the procurement process is terminated or amended by Cumbria Cricket.
