Cumbria’s International Women’s Day 2022

Cumbria celebrates International Women’s Day with Cumbria Chamber and partners to host a full day event for all

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce will host an all-day event packed with valuable workshops, inspiring speakers and presentations from a range of businesswomen.

As part of the Chamber’s Women in Business series, the event held at North Lakes Hotel & Spa will welcome individuals throughout the county with various backgrounds to network, learn and celebrate the many amazing women in business in Cumbria. Cumbria’s International Women’s Day is kindly being sponsored by Baines Wilson LLP, North Lakes Hotel & Spa, University of Cumbria’s CUSP II and Laura Cadman Limited.

The day will consist of a series of inspiring and informative workshops, a 2-course lunch and a panel discussion with Q&A with leading businesswomen in Cumbria.

Eve Halliday, Business Growth Manager at Cumbria Chamber said: “International Women’s Day is a day to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women across the globe.

“We’re fortunate here in Cumbria to have many incredible women in varied roles who are making a positive impact as part of the business community and we’re really looking forward to hosting this event with long-standing partners Baines Wilson LLP, while adding some new faces for International Women’s Day.

“This event is open to all, and I’m really looking forward to getting everyone together for a day of inspiration and networking, something I think we’ve all missed over the last 2 years. There’s so much talent, knowledge and drive from our female leaders in Cumbria and we hope this event will help to showcase that.”

International Women’s Day has been celebrated for over 100 years and is a day to recognise the economic, social, and political achievements of women across the globe. There are women in significant roles who are making a positive impact on the business community in Cumbria. From business starters to running large organisations, as well as those forging a career in areas previously dominated by men.
