SME Brexit Support Fund

The SME Brexit Support Fund is a £20million fund was set up by the government to support businesses and help them prepare for new import controls. With money still left in the pot and a deadline of 30th June approaching, we’re urging businesses to apply before it’s too late!

Small and medium sized businesses can apply for grants up to £2,000 to use for training and professional advice on completing customs declarations, processes, software systems and import/export aspects, such as VAT.

It’s for businesses that trade goods solely with the EU and so are new to importing and exporting processes. If you move goods between Britain and Northern Ireland you can also apply.

The funding can pay for to help adjust to new customs procedures, rules of origin and VAT rules when trading with the EU. Also to help you understand the new processes for trading with the EU.

This includes using it to pay for practical support from us – whether that’s export/import training from the range on offer, or 1-2-1 consultancy. If you’d like to speak to a member of the Export team, please email info@cumbriachamber.co.uk.

Applications close on 30th June, for more information and to apply, please visit here.
