Quarterly Economic Survey

The British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey

The British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (QES) is the largest and most representative independent business survey of its kind in the UK. Questions cover a wide range of issues such as domestic sales and orders, export sales and order, hiring intentions, investment intentions, recruitment difficulties, cash flow, confidence and price pressures.

The survey is used by policymakers in the Treasury and Bank of England, as well as by the media. The Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee is clear that they pay particular attention to the QES and meetings with British Chambers of Commerce, in their deliberations and decisions.
