The case for a Morecambe Bay crossing
by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce
Northern Tidal Power Gateways’ proposal for tidal gateways across Morecambe Bay and the Duddon Estuary is gaining traction.
The scheme would dramatically reduce journey times to Furness and Millom, and generate green energy from tidal flows.
The Chamber’s decision to ask Transport for the North to explore the project for its 30-year strategic plan prompted the BBC to produce this item for its flagship local news programme North West Tonight.
