Video: The business case for HS2 to stop in Cumbria

Last month Cumbria Chamber of Commerce submitted a business case to HS2 for the high-speed rail service from London to serve Oxenholme, Penrith and Carlisle.

As things stand, HS2 is proposing that its trains operate non-stop between Preston and Glasgow or Edinburgh, forcing Cumbrian passengers to change at Preston.

In this video clip Julian Whittle, the Chamber’s Business Engagement Manager, sets out the Chamber’s case to Emily Jones of That’s TV Cumbria.

That’s TV Cumbria broadcasts a rolling news service on Freeview Channel 8.
