The candidate will be helping in all aspects of the business which deals in antiques, reclamation, garden furniture & statuary. The role will involve being outside a lot of the time and the work will be physical, requiring lifting and moving heavy items. The ideal candidate will have experience with forklift or similar, and use of power tools/chainsaw etc.
New stock has to be taken into the yard or building, cleaned/repaired/loaded and subsequently delivered etc. Dealing with the visiting public on site is an important part of the business so good people skills are important.
Holding a driving (and maybe trailer?) licence would be preferred.
A general interest in antiques/history/period properties and gardens would also be useful, along with sound numeracy and literacy skills (rather than specific academic qualifications)
Typical jobs will be:
Collecting items and delivering stock within Cumbria using company van or other vehicles.
Renovating/restoring items of architectural salvage and reclamation. (Oak beams/flagstones/ floorboards etc)
Aiding with cataloguing/photographing of stock to go online.
Ability to work independently

Essential skills and requirements:
Practical aptitude is most important (with or without qualifications) Good basic numeracy and literacy skills. Driving licence preferred.
35 hours. 5 day week, to include some weekend days.
