Job description:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated, excellent at organising and who has a creative flair and entrepreneurial spirit, to join our team for a period of six months working with the Markets Operations and Development Manager to explore a range of oppor-tunities for revitalising Ulverston’s outdoor market. You will have the chance to have owner-ship (with guidance and support) of a project that seeks to trial a new, monthly ‘feature’ market in Ulverston which will combine research, creative development, project planning, event organ-isation and reporting. If you’re the sort of person who loves making things better, trying out new ideas and are an excellent planner, we’d like to hear from you.

Essential skills and requirements:
• Research – This could include internet research, making calls, conducting face to face interviews, visiting sites.
• Planning – We’d like to see that you can organise your-self and other people well in line with deadlines, that you can plan and prioritise and that you can work well under pressure, particularly in the lead up to an event.
• Communications – You’ll need to be a people person who is comfortable talking to a range of people in per-son, on the phone and via email and can build good pro-fessional relationships with people.
• IT/digital- A good level of IT/digital competency. We’d like you to be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel and to know your way around social media.
• Working as a team – You should be able to both work collaboratively as part of a team but also be able to work independently to agreed objectives.
• Creativity & innovation – You’re an ideas person, crea-tive and interested. You like finding solutions to problems and you interested in trying new things out and testing ideas.

Working pattern:
25 hours. Spread over 3/4 days including some Saturdays.

Hourly rate of pay:
Minimum wage plus 10%.
