Job description:
• BEING THE FACE AND FIRST CONTACT FOR THE CHOCOLATE COTTAGE.
• DEALING DAY TO DAY WITH THE PUBLIC, IN A FRIENDLY – COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL MANNER.
• COPING WITH ANY QUERIES AND COMPLAINTS THAT MAY ARISE, IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND PASSING TO THE RELEVANT PERSON.
• ANSWERING TELEPHONE AND EMAIL QUERIES WHEN REQUIRED.
• SERVING CUSTOMERS AT THE CHOCOLATE COUNTER
• GAINING STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF OUR CHOCOLATE AND ITS PRODUCTION TO ENABLE YOU TO DISCUSS AND EXPLAIN THIS TO CUSTOMERS.
• WORKING THE CASH AND TILL SYSTEMS.
• LOOKING AFTER STOCK AND STOCK CONTROL.
• BEING AWARE AND TAKING CONTROL OF HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES IN THE RETRAIL ENVIRONMENT.
• PACKING CHOCOLATE FOR ON LINE SERVICES.
• LIAISING WITH ALL OTHER STAFF MEMBERS TO ENSURE THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE COMPANY.
• UTILISING SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS TO DEVELOP AND ENHANCE THE COMPANY PROFILE.
• LEARNING AND WHEN APPROPRIATE DEVELOPING ‘CHOCOLATE MAKING’ SKILLS.
• BE PREPARED TO WORK AS A TEAM MEMBER TO CONTRIBUTE IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS TO ASSIST IN THE COMPANY DEVELOPMENT.

This is a varied and interesting position and the job description shows the initial tasks but the applicant must be able to show versatility and be willing to try their hand at many areas of this rapidly developing and interesting business.

Essential skills and requirements:
Must be able to work till systems.
An artistic bent would be an advantage.
Previous retail experience is desirable.
A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Social media skills.

Working pattern:
Min 25 hours per week. No shift patterns.
General working hours vary slightly between summer and winter seasons.
Generally 10.00 – 5.00 Summer, 10.30 – 4.00 Winter season

Hourly rate of pay:
National Minimum Wage
