Job Description
Ginger Boats Racing are looking for enthusiastic and energetic apprentices to join our growing team. We specialise in advanced composites building racing sail boats and parts for motorsport. Our clients expect high quality products with attention to detail being key. In addition to composite boats, we build and repair wooden racing boats meaning there is always a variety of tasks to be completed on a daily basis.

The main responsibilities of a successful candidate will be to assist in the building of composite racing dinghies made at our workshop in Brigham. A brief list of tasks is below:

– Material preparation and cutting
– Mould preparation and cleaning
– Sanding and surface cleaning
– General workshop organising tasks
– General workshop cleaning and tidying
– Assisting experienced staff in making boat components
– Assist laying up hulls using infusion
– Resin preparation
– Moving and packing up boats ready for dispatch
– Boat washing & cleaning
– Assist in wet laying boats and laminating

The role will include development of skills to work towards being able to laminate boats and be part of our production team. We are a growing business with consistent orders of new boats and repair to be carried out. Candidates will be expected to work independently and as part of our team throughout each day.

Essential skills and requirements:
Experience using hand tools essential
Experience using power tools preferred
Driving licence preferred

Working pattern:
25 hours.

Hourly rate of pay:
National Minimum Wage
