Job description:
Overview of the role
The trainee will learn all aspects of supporting the delivery of high-quality programmes for young people. The trainee will:

Programme Delivery – Learn how to:
• Support the Project Worker with planning and delivering the programme
• Support the Project Worker to progress participants though the programme, achieving a range of set KPI targets
• Act as a role model for young participants
• Support supervision of participants on programmes
• Work directly with participants through a programme of planned, informal education
• Work with Brathay colleagues, sessional workers and other agencies in the designated region to ensure effective and high quality delivery to participants
• Liaise with families/carers/organisations in order to support engagement of participants on to the programme
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, paper and electronic as required and in line with GDPR policies

Programme Design and Development – Learn how to:
• Assist the Project Worker in developing sessions which supports the aims of the programme

Quality and Monitoring – Learn how to:
• Maintains quality of service provision
• Liaise with the programme leader to understand programme objectives
• Assist the Project Worker to ensure that all monitoring and evaluation information is accurate and kept up to date in line with current system
• Assist the Project Worker to ensure other essential data is recorded and reported in a timely manner e.g. action plans, consent forms, referral forms, etc.

Essential skills and requirements:
• An understanding of the challenges of young people within the target groups
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of people
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work on own initiative to find creative solutions to problems
• Strong awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and the ability to translate these into effective actions
• Experience of using IT, email, internet, word processing and spreadsheet packages
• Good levels of communication both written and verbal
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work and meet deadlines

Working pattern:
25 hours. May include evening and weekend work.

Hourly rate of pay:
National Minimum Wage
