Online Training Session – ‘Post-Brexit Import and Export Procedures’ with Mark Rowbotham of Portcullis

Post-Brexit Import and Export Procedures- Friday, 26th March

As access to help through HMRC is becoming more limited, traders are unable to gain the help and advice they need about concerning problems they may have with Customs, Excise and VAT.

There’s now more emphasis on trader risk, self-assessment and monitoring. There’s also a high degree of risk assurance and management which can result in traders being assessed for significant amounts of duty and tax owing to non-compliance.

HMRC clearly states that traders must be fully compliant with Customs Import and Export Procedures and document requirements in order for Customs-related matters to be approved.

You need to ensure your business is fully compliant with HMRC Import and Export procedures. Join Cumbria Chamber of Commerce alongside Mark Rowbotham of Portcullis on Friday, 26th March 10am-12.30pm for an online training session covering the basics of post-Brexit Import and Export Procedures, including:

  • Commercial documentation
  • Transport documentation
  • Customs documentation.

The session will also explain the various stages in exporting and importing goods to and from the UK, emphasising on trading with the EU. It will cover:

  • Cargo pre-clearance
  • T1 status and Export Customs Declarations
  • Import requirements
  • Import Duties and VAT
  • Import and Export Transaction record-keeping

This session is part of a series offered by the Chamber to address the main issues concerning the UK’s departure from the EU. The series is designed to give an overview of the main issues affecting traders in Cumbria.

The rate for this session is £95+VAT for Chamber members, or £145+VAT for non-members. To book a place you will be directed to our third party event booking site.
