In-person training – Excel Training with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce – Intermediate Excel – Wednesday, 2nd February 2022 – Kendal

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce with Lake Mill Consulting Services are holding 3 in-person Excel training sessions- Introduction to Excel (Wednesday 19th January) – Intermediate Excel (Wednesday 2nd February) and Advanced Excel training (Wednesday 2nd March). The course will be held at Stonecross Manor, Kendal.

Each workshop is £120+VAT for Chamber members, or £170+VAT for non-members.  Lunch is included in this cost.

Excel Intermediate
This is a one-day training course structured into 7 modules. Commencing 9.00am We will have an introduction then the course will commence at 9.30. We aim to be finished for 4.00pm.

Course Aims
This training course is designed to familiarise users with the main features of Microsoft Office Excel. It is entirely ‘hands on’, so those attending will get practice in creating and modifying actual spreadsheets.

Please bring along your laptop to get the most from the course.

Target Audience
The course is intended for new users of Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 or 2016 who want to become productive in the shortest possible time. Delegates should be familiar with using a PC with the Microsoft Windows operating system, and basic prior experience with Excel is required.

This course covers 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office 365 versions

MODULE 1: Advanced File Tasks
Different options when managing and controlling Excel files.
Topics covered:

  • Saving and File Management
  • Converting and Encrypting Files
  • File Properties and Digital Signatures
  • File Accessibility and Compatibility

MODULE 2: Working with Functions and Formulas
Some key formulas and functions essential to Excel users along with features to help manage formulas, functions and ranges.

  • Formulas with Absolute References
  • Autosum Functions (SUM & AVERAGE)
  • IF and Nested Functions
  • Working with Named Ranges
  • Array Functions (SUMIF & AVERAGEIF)
  • Formula Auditing
  • Text Functions

MODULE 3: Managing Tables
Managing spreadsheet data in table format, useful with large sets of data.
Topics covered:

  • Creating Excel Tables
  • Working with Records and Filters
  • Advanced Filters

MODULE 4: Data Tools
Features to help save time managing and formatting the data
Topics covered:

  • Text to Columns
  • Flash Fill
  • Remove Duplicates
  • Data Validation
  • Consolidate

MODULE 5: Exploring Charts in Excel
Developing your ability to effectively create charts and format them specific to the reader
Topics covered:

  • Trendlines
  • Error Bars
  • Working with Axis Options
  • Advanced Chart Formatting

MODULE 6: Sparklines
Use Sparklines to help analyse data by creating small customisable charts within cells. Edit and format the Sparklines and data points to help your data stand out
Topics covered:

  • Creating Sparklines
  • Editing Sparklines

MODULE 7: Using Styles and Themes
Working with Themes

  • Creating Custom Styles
  • Applying Cell Styles
