Health and Safety for the Busy Business
Health and safety affects businesses large and small and can often be seen as a burden, join Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Matthew McVeigh, Director of Plansafe Solutions Ltd to find out how effective management of health and safety can not only save time and money but also give companies a commercial advantage. 15th February, 10am to 4pm – Newton Rigg Conference Centre, Penrith.
Successful health and safety management reduces accidents, incidents and the associated costs. It also puts companies in a position to compete for opportunities with large organisations who require a demonstrably high standard, such as blue chip multinationals and institutional public sector organisations. Conversely poor health and safety management can lead to investigation, prosecution and swinging fines, such as the £730k recently levied against a timber yard for failing to protect pedestrians from moving vehicles. Worse yet it can mean having to deal with the consequences of an injury to valued employee.
This one day workshop is aimed at managers and Directors and anyone who is seeking an understanding of the health and safety legal requirements that impact their business and how these can be effectively managed.
The workshop will cover:
