Demystifying Employment Tribunals and Tips on Avoiding Them
Businesses are often unnecessarily fearful of the possibility of Employment Tribunal claims and this fear puts them off tackling issues in the business (such as poor performance or misconduct) and making changes (such as varying contracts or reorganising staff) that will help the business thrive.
Join Cumbria join Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Michael Bauer of Cumbria Employment Solicitors at Newton Rigg Conference Centre on 18 July 2019 from 9.30am-1pm in order to dispel some of the myths about employment law and Employment Tribunals. We will show you that employment law is massively stacked in favour of the employer and that tackling frustrating staff issues or making key changes in the business is much more low risk and straightforward than you would think and will make your business more flexible, manageable and profitable.
This practical, positive and down to earth training will seek to explain:
- the key Employment Tribunal claims;
- the Tribunal process and how it works;
- how the Tribunal makes decisions and why this gives business a huge advantage; and
- changes you can make to minimise the chance of facing an Employment Tribunal claim.

Michael Bauer is a 20 year qualified employment solicitor who after working in London and Manchester has for the last 10 years run Cumbria Employment Solicitors – a specialist law firm dealing with all aspects of employment law. In addition to his work as a solicitor, Michael was an Employment Judge for the last 5 years.
