Confidence and Assertiveness go hand in hand in positively shaping our relationships with colleagues, staff, managers and clients. An ability to appropriately express our thoughts, feelings and beliefs is a key skill for everyone in the workplace – and at home!
This doesn’t mean we need, or have a right, to railroad over other people’s ideas, beliefs and needs. Being assertive comes from understanding our own behaviours and internal dialogue in order to grow our self-esteem, while respecting others. The confidence that comes from controlling our internal communications allows us to positively, and calmly, persuade and influence those around us.
Join Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Deborah Clark of Get Real Leadership, 25th September, Newby Bridge Hotel, Nr Kendal, 9:30am to 4:30pm for this interactive and enjoyable day, where the delegates will:
· Gain insight into different styles of behaviour – Assertive, Passive and Aggressive
· Analyse their own style and behaviours
· Investigate why people behave the way they do and how we trigger responses in others
· Learn how to handle difficult situations, problems and conflicts
· Explore how to be assertive and persuasive through positive, confident communication
· Relate techniques to workplace situations
The workshop will provide a safe and secure environment in which the delegates can explore and discuss their own feelings and experiences in order to find their confident and assertive self.
