If you’re on Jobseekers’ Allowance, alongside our other start-up support you can also benefit from the New Enterprise Allowance scheme with free mentoring, financial support through your first six months of trading and the opportunity to apply for an NEA loan of up to £1,000.
The £2.1 million NEA initiative is enabling nearly 4000 unemployed people to start their own business.
With its capability to develop winning bids and funding contracts, Cumbria Chamber operates the New Enterprise Allowance scheme across Cumbria and Lancashire.
Funded by DWP this initiative supports people on Jobseeker’s Allowance and certain other benefits, with volunteer mentors helping budding entrepreneurs to produce business plans and get their businesses up and running.
Financial support is available for the first six months of trading, along with the opportunity for those on the scheme to apply for easy access loans.
