Climate Change and Carbon Agenda 2010

Climate Change – a business threat or a business opportunity?

Impact your bottom line and save the planet!

Evidence suggests that businesses that positively embrace the carbon agenda are not only more sustainable but will also be more profitable in the years to come.

We’re sure you’ll find something to benefit your business at our Climate Change and Carbon Agenda Conference taking place on Tuesday 2nd February at Energus in Workington from 1pm to 8pm.  This event brings together key players and support organisations in energy sustainability and resource efficiency to explore the available technologies, funding and more.  It will help you plan for and invest in your future effectively.

Rob Johnston, Chief Executive of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce urges businesses to take advantage of this conference, “Climate Change and Carbon Agenda is an issue which isn’t going to disappear anytime soon.  We’re urging businesses to come along, as a Chamber we’re constantly lobbying for businesses to be rewarded for their positive impact on reduction of their carbon footprint.  Addressing these issues will not only help the environment but can also impact your bottom line.”

Four interactive workshops, supported by over 40 exhibitors, will give you the opportunity to investigate a wide range of products and services available to assist with your sustainable energy and environmental options, and the expert advice and support you need to help you cut your carbon emissions and save money.

Speakers are Envirowise, Envirolink and CBEN who’ll be covering topics including:

·          resource efficiency & audits

·          implement no-cost or low quick wins that will boost profitability and improve company image

·          funding for low carbon projects

·          guidance on renewable technologies

·          biodiversity

·          climate change risk advice

You’ll also be able to see how one North West SME has taken environmental improvements to heart and benefited significantly.

Catherynn Dunstan, Events Manager at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce has organised this free conference, “Our Climate Change and Carbon Agenda conference offers a range of speakers plus various exhibitors to help improve resource efficiency, save money and benefit the environment.  As part of the conference we’re also holding a networking event from 6pm giving delegates the opportunity to network with other like-minded delegates and exhibitors.  I’d encourage businesses to take advantage of this free conference, there’s something on offer for everyone!”

This event is free to both exhibitors and attendees, but places are limited.  To secure your place please email bookings@cumbriachamber.co.uk or call 0845 226 0040.

Should you wish to exhibit at the event, please contact Catherynn Dunstan on 0845 226 0040 or email bookings@cumbriachamber.co.uk
