Bank of England August 2017 briefing

Mauricio Armellini and Andrew Hebden, respectively Agent and Deputy Agent for the for the Bank in the North East and North Cumbria, were guest speakers at a Chamber lunch on Thursday, August 10.
They presented their views on the health of the UK economy and outline the Bank’s stance on interest rates and monetary policy.
The visit was part of an intelligence-gathering programme where Bank officials speak to businesses and feed the information back to the monetary policy committee, which sets interest rates.
