Introduction to Export
When you export your goods abroad you need to compile the correct export documentation – and know where and when to send it. Cumbria Chamber can help you with this process, ensuring that you avoid delays in payment.
WHICH DOCUMENTS CAN WE PROCESS FOR YOU?
EC Certificates of Origin Importers usually require a Certificate of Origin to meet customs or quota requirements in the importing country, or to comply with banking requirements.
EUR1 Movement Certificates
An EUR1 document can help your buyer in some countries import your goods more cheaply under preference. Preference means that your buyer may pay a lower or nil rate of import duty on your goods.
ATR Certificates
An ATR Certificate is a goods movement certificate used for preferential treatment of goods moved between the European Community and Turkey.
Arab-British Documents We have arrangements with neighbouring Chambers to process Arab Documents.
WHO IS IT FOR? Exporters in Cumbria and adjacent areas in Scotland.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The Chamber is the only body in Cumbria registered by the DTI to provide an export documentation service. We offer:
HOW DOES IT WORK? When you intend to export you complete a Formal Undertaking and Specimen Signatures form and send them to Cumbria Chamber.
You then complete your documents and return them with a signed copy of your commercial invoice and payment, either by post or in person, to Cumbria Chamber Head Office. The Chamber operates a counter service between the hours of 1000 - 1200 when documentation will be certified (if correct) while you wait. All documents received through the post will be processed on the same day as received (with the exception of Arab-British Certificates) and posted back to customers the same day.
Cumbria Chamber of Commerce can now offer exporters the facility to electronically submit European Certificates of Origin, EUR1 documents and ATR documents and receive them back the same day electronically.
The e-Cert Express service saves you invaluable time – no more having to rely on posting Certificates of Origin and waiting for them to be processed manually and then posted back to you.
Another benefit of this process is that if any amendments need to be made to a certificate once the document has been checked by Chamber staff – these can be made immediately by you and the document then can be resubmitted within minutes for processing and subsequent electronic return.
A further benefit is that by using this process it cuts out the cost of having to leave the office to use Cumbria Chamber of Commerce’s desk service for those ‘urgent’ documents.
Electronic EC Certificates of Origin, EUR1 Documents and ATR Documents cost £15 + VAT for members and £32 + VAT for non-members.
WHAT DOES IT COST? For EC Certificates of Origin, EUR1's and ATR's our prices are £16 + VAT for members and £25 + VAT for non-members. Arab certification and legalisation costs are available on request. Please see our Price List for further details.
Our Export Training Courses are very competitively priced, with substantial savings for members.
